Agent	A human being that sees the ghost or apparition.
Altered State of Consciousness	Any state of consciousness that differs from the normal states of being awake or asleep.
Amulet	An article that has the power to stave off ghosts and evil spirits.
Angel	A holy and protective messenger shielding us from harm. They are sometimes mistaken for ghosts.
Anomaly	An irregular or unusual event which does not fit a standard rule or law. An anomaly is something which cannot be explained by currently accepted scientific theories. Anything weird, abnormal, strange, odd, or difficult to classify is considered an anomaly.
Apparition	A mysterious image of a disembodied spirit that can be recognized as a human or animal. They are the most rare type of ghost to capture on film. Ghostly human forms are the easiest to fake, especially with the advance technology of computers. This makes our job even more difficult to prove apparitions when using photos. Ghostly apparitions of ships, trains, cars, and other inanimate objects have been seen.
Apport	This happens when a solid object appears from out of nowhere, with the assistance of the spirit in the company of a medium.
Astral Body	The energy that separates itself from the human form but still maintains the personality and feelings of the individual. Sometimes others will see them during their Out-of-Body Experience (OBE) or Near-Death Experience (NDE)
Astral Plane	A level of awareness in the celestial world having its own standards, occupants, and the reason for being.
Atmospheric Apparition	A visual imprint of the person that has died left on the atmosphere that continues to re-play.
Aura	An energy field that surrounds all living things.
Automatic Writing	This happens when a ghost or spirit takes control of the writer?s hand and writes out a message.
Automatism	Any unconscious and spontaneous muscular movement caused by the spirits.
Banshee	A spirit that appears prior to a person?s death to howl a morning song and to welcome them into the after life.
Bi-location	The phenomena where someone can be in two places at the same time.
Cemetery lights	The bluish balls of lights that have been sighted after dark hovering over graves.
Channeling	A form of spirit possession with a medium while communicating for wisdom or future events with the unseen entity.
Clairaudience	Occurs when someone has the ability to hear the voices of ghosts and other sounds that are inaudible to the human ear.
Clairoleofactor	To have an extraordinary sense of smell, as if you could smell flowers before they bloom or smell trouble before it occurs or death before it happens.
Clairsentience	The ability to clearly feel yours and/or another\'s emotions and sensations.
Clairvoyance	Being capable of seeing events in the future or past through the mind?s eye.
Cold Reading	This is done when a psychic has no prior knowledge of the sitter.
Cold Spot	An area in the haunted premises where the temperature drops by several degrees. The temperature can also rise in heat by several degrees indicating a possible fire in the past.
Collective Apparition	This happens when more than one living person sights a ghost or spirit at the some time.
Collective Unconscious	A term to describe a form of analytical psychology developed by Carl Jung. It represents the collective memory of all humanity?s past and is held somewhere inside the unconscious mind.
Conjure	An act to summon a spirit to manifest itself for a desired task or to answer questions.
Corpse Candle	A term referring to the balls of fire lights that dance above the ground.
Crisis Apparition	A vision of someone that will appear during waking hours or in a dream at the moment of a crisis.
Crystalomancy	The art of gazing into a crystal globe, a pool of water, a mirror, or any transparent object. The person may put him/her self into a hypnotic state to see visions or to summon forth spirits or demons.
Demonology	One who studies and practices the art of demonology. An individual who specializes in the removal of evil or demonic forces from a given environment using the art of demonology. One who brings demonic forces out of their slumber to be cast away. Someone who uses the art of demonology to incantate demons for ones use in battling them.
